Week of October 30, 2017 Students drafted their personal narratives last week and now they are starting to revise. Today, they worked on revising the hook. To check in, ask your students to define "hook" and tell its purpose to an essay. 10/31 - Inserting dialogue 11/1 - Adding sensory details and figurative language 11/2 - Including transitions 11/3 - Independent reading day. Monday: Review the Incident, Response, Reflect personal narrative structure. Students will complete a Cause and Effect analysis graphic organizer and complete their 1st read of "Bad Boy" by Walter Dean Myers Tuesday: Students will complete their 2nd read of the story. They use the STEAL method to analyze character and character motivations. Wednesday: Students will answer selected Text Dependent Questions. Thursday: We will review for the upcoming assessment.
